Studies on Narcissus tazetta Native to Jeju Island , Korea for the Cultivation as a Floricultural Crop

Abstract
Narcissus tazetta native to Jeju island was cultivated according to the bulb size in open held and in non-heated vinyl house in order to investigate using potentiality as a cut-Hoover in winter season. Initial blooming time of the plant cultivated in non-heated vinyl house condition was Dec. 25 as compared with Jan. 25 in open field. Average stalk length of flower grown in the vinyl house was 84cm as compared with 55cm in the open. Flowering response of the large size bulbs ranged from 45 to 55 grams in weight was 80%, and that of middle size, from 25 to 35 grams, was 8.7%. However, small size of the bulbs from 5 to 15grams did nut bloom at any cultivated conditions. Fur forcing of Narcissus tazetta in winter season, planting time should be late September in non-heated vinyl house, and bulb weight should be over than 40 grams. In this conditions, 87.5% of the planted bulbs can be used as a cut-flower. Total bulb weight was increased about 39¡50% in non-heated vinyl house than in open field.
